My name is Nadia Janousek, and I’m a fourth-year pre-medical student at the University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Health Promotion with an interest in chronic disease and sports-related injury prevention. I’m originally from Loganville, Georgia, and I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon, combining my passion of public health, sports medicine, and surgery.
My academic and research experiences have furthered my goal to understanding and improving the health of the community. I’ve conducted literature reviews on pediatric obesity for class credit that focused on its long-term health implications, and I’m currently drafting a needs assessment focused on ACL injury prevention among female collegiate athletes at the University of Georgia.
I am currently shadowing Dr. Robert Willson of Piedmont Athens Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in both the clinic and the operating room. Beginning in January of 2026, I will be joining him and his team as a full-time intern, and will be performing both clinical and health-promotion duties and projects.
When I am not in the classroom, clinic, or operating room, I am usually hanging out with my fiancé and three cats. You can also find me on the soccer field or the rugby pitch.
